Two New York men have pleaded guilty to an anti-gay robbery which left their victim in hospital for three weeks.

Daniel Rodriguez, 21, and Daniel Aleman, 27, admit robbery as a hate crime for the attack on 49-year-old Jack Price in October last year in the Queens neighbourhood.

They are said to have shouted homophobic slurs as they kicked and punched him before stealing his wallet.

Mr Price sustained broken ribs, a fractured jaw and a lacerated spleen. He was placed in a medically-induced coma and spent three weeks in hospital.

The pair may face up to eight years in jail if found guilty, Associated Press reports.
