A 34-year-old woman has been charged with murder following the death of a person at Kings Cross Station on Monday evening.

Nina Kanagasingham from Cricklewood, north-west London, appeared at City of Westminster Magistrates Court today and has been remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on November 1st.

The victim has been named as 63-year-old David Burgess, from central London, who is understood to have been wearing women’s clothes.

Police have not confirmed whether the victim was transgender. However, the death is not being treated as a hate crime.

According to the Evening Standard, prosecutors had tried to ban the publication of the victim’s name, saying it would cause a substantial risk of serious prejudice to any trial.

Horrified passengers saw the victim being struck by a tube train at rush hour.

The victim was initially believed to be female and witnesses described seeing two women sharing a joke before one was killed.
