Thousands enjoy Bournemouth’s Wild West-themed Pride
Thousands of people enjoyed the four-day Pride celebrations and parade in Bournemouth last week.
The event, named Bourne Free, started in 2004 and had a Wild West theme this year.
Drag queen Angel Delight, who won a carnival queen competition, was the head cowgirl and led Saturday’s parade through the town.
After the parade ended at 2pm, revellers enjoyed a party and DJs at the newly-refurbished area The Triangle.
Acts included a Lady Gaga tribute and singer Angie Brown.
Bourne Free organisers said 2,500 people paid £10 for a wristband allowing them access to events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.
Festival trustee Peter Lovegrove told the Daily Echo that the atmosphere was “incredible”.
“One day there won’t be any prejudice, or harassment, and everybody will be able to live together,” he said.
