Jury retires over death of gay man in Trafalgar Square
The jury in the case of three teenagers accused of killing a gay man in Trafalgar Square has retired to consider its verdict.
Mr Baynham, 62, of Beckenham, Kent, died last October of head injuries after he was attacked while on a night out in London.
Ruby Thomas, 18, of Lichfield, Staffs, Joel Alexander, 19, Thornton Heath, south London, and Rachel Burke, 18, of Three Oaks, East Sussex, all deny manslaughter.
During the trial, the Old Bailey heard that Mr Baynham was subjected to a Clockwork Orange-style attack and suffered homophobic abuse as he was kicked while unconscious.
It is alleged he became involved in a confrontation with Ms Thomas and was punched by Mr Alexander.
The court heard the two women kicked him and shouted homophobic abuse at him as he lay on the ground.
He died in hospital 18 days after the attack, which happened while he was celebrating a new job with a friend.
