A teacher in the US state of Georgia is accused of trying to “put a hit” on a student he thought was gay

Randolph Forde, a teacher at Mundy’s Mill High School in Clayton County, has been suspended with pay after being arrested last month.

School officials are investigating the allegations. He was arrested on a charge of making terrorist threats.

The 16-year-old student’s attorney alleges he was taken out of class by Forde and questioned about his sexual orientation.

The next day, the student said he and Forde got into an argument in class and Forde “threatened to hit him in his ‘f**king mouth”.

After that, police say Forde passed a note to another student on a school bus with the alleged victim’s name on it and indicated he would pay to have the boy killed.

Forde’s lawyer Borquaye Thomas said he had made a joke about the student dancing with another boy but added he had had “no interaction with the witness or the victim”.

Thomas added that the boy had only complained after he was suspended for seven days.

The student’s mother contacted police about the alleged incidents.

The student has now returned to school, while Forde has been released on bail.
