Chaz Bono, the son of singer Cher, is to give his first television interview since announcing his plans to become a man.

He lived as a lesbian woman for 20 years before revealing the news of his transition in June.

Bono was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight’s Mary Hart and Mark Steines at his Los Angeles home and the programme will be screened tomorrow night.

He has also reportedly posed for photographs showing his chest reconstruction.

Last month, it was revealed that Bono signed a six-figure publishing deal for a memoir tentatively titled ‘Coming Clean’.

It is scheduled to hit shelves in 2011.

The 40-year-old is Cher’s only child with late husband Sonny Bono. He is a gay rights activist but also works as a musician, writer and actor. He wrote about his experience of coming out to his mother in the memoir Family Outing.
