Man appears in court over murder of gay pensioner

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a gay pensioner.

Edward Highwood, 79, who was known as Teddy, was found dead at his home in Greenwich, south-east London, on Saturday July 18th by his housemate.

He had suffered severe head injuries.

Marcin Orlowski, 20, appeared at Sutton magistrates’ court on Monday charged with murder.

Orlowski, of no fixed address, has been remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey on November 2nd.
