Former Take That star Robbie Williams is to appear as a little girl in a Red Nose Day special Little Britain sketch.

“It’s hard to say no when asked to take part in a Little Britain sketch for Comic Relief,” said Williams. “But I have to admit that dressing up as a small American child in a pretty dress made it all the more appealing.”

Williams plays Candy Marie-Candy, friend of Ellie Grace played by openly gay Little Britain star Matt Lucas. David Walliams plays Ellie’s mum.
Walliams said: “Robbie was absolutely brilliant in the Ellie Grace sketch. He could be a comedian full-time if he wanted to.
“And we have found that the best way to tempt him back into the spotlight is by putting him in a dress!”

The sketches will air on Red Nose Day, the telethon fund-raiser for charity Comic Relief, this Friday on BBC One
