A weekend of Pride celebrations in the seaside town of Bournemouth this summer will have a circus theme.

The lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans community will be invited to roll up, roll up, for the Bourne Free Big Top.

Bourne Free 2009 organisers said it would be “a colourful weekend of circus fun with everything from clowns and jugglers to stilt walkers and fire eaters.”

The events take place from Friday 10th until Sunday 12th of July, with a ringmaster leading the Pride Parade, live acts at the Street Party, and plenty of popcorn and candyfloss.

Anyone who wants to be a volunteer, become a sponsor, book a stall or register for the parade should visit their website.

3,000 people attended the Support our Services themed Pride parade through the town last summer.

Naughty nurses, shirtless sailors, police and firemen marched alongside open top buses, fire engines, colourful floats and a huge rainbow flag.
