Gaydar assistance sees man charged for fraud

Gay social networking site Gaydar has assisted in a Metropolitan Police fraud investigation.

The investigation was carried out by the Southward Police LGBT Liaison Officer and detectives from the Community Safety Unit.

Michael Goldsmith, 37, from Menai Bridge, Wales, was charged yesterday with five counts of fraud by false representation under the Fraud Act 2006.

Mr Goldsmith appeared yesterday at Tower Bridge Magisterial Court and remanded in custody to appear on 19th August.

Police have requested that the details relating to the charges are not published.
