A London LGBT arts festival is getting an enthusiastic response to an open call for submissions, with applications pouring in from around the world.

The GFest-gayWise festival provides a unique platform for Queer Arts, principally created by LGBT artists from diverse backgrounds, presenting the work in a creatively safe, stimulating and artistically challenging manner.

A range of events will be taking place in London throughout November.

“Several LGBT people that I know have a rich experience base,” Niranjan Kamatkar, artistic director of GFest told PinkNews.co.uk.

“A lot of LGBT and queer artists need to translate or correlate some of their experiences and express themselves through their chosen medium of art.

“What we are offering is a rare opportunity to provide a platform for LGBT arts. GFest is becoming the only Cross-Arts LGBT festival in London.”

Short film screenings, a visual arts exhibition, performance evenings and workshops are all part of this year’s festival, programmed for November 10th to 28th.
