Bournemouth is gearing up for its annual LGBT Bourne Free Pride Festival and organisers have gone all out to get the most fabulous acts to wow the crowds.

Originally set up in 2002 as a reaction to a homophobic far right group that were making their way to Bournemouth, Bourne Free has become one of the UK’s best-loved celebrations of diversity and equality.

Organisers have catered to all tastes and throughout the three day festival party goers can experience a Jazz Night, Pride Parade and a Street Party as well as a Caribbean Affair.

Acts confirmed to perform include the UK’s first openly gay hip-hop act QBoy, The Boy George Experience, international singer and pianist Esther Vernon and everyone’s favourite sequinned car insurance selling trio The Sheilas, of Sheila’s Wheels fame.

A Bourne Free Wristband is required to enter the Street party and other gay venues over the weekend. These can be purchased for £5 at www.bournefree.co.uk

The Bourne Free Pride Festival starts on 11th July and ends 13th July. The event is for over 18’s only.
