Mother and son in court accused of attack on lesbian couple

A mother and her son are on trial for accused of homophobic assaults on their lesbian neighbours.

The Lincolnshire Echo reported that Jennifer Warne and Marie Neasham were returning home from the pub on New Year’s Day when the alleged attack took place.

Lincoln magistrates court was told that Ricky Holland, who had previously been at a New Year’s party, shouted homophobic slurs at the couple.

He then allegedly head-butted Warne in the face and punched her on the back of the head.

His mother, Violet Holland, 48, allegedly punched Neasham in the stomach minutes later.

The court was shown photographs of the injuries sustained by Warne.

Ricky Holland, 21, admitting to shouting homophobic abuse.

He also admitted to clashing heads with Warne, however, he claims this was accidental and denies assault.

His mother admits to pushing Marie Neasham, but she also denies assault. The case continues.
