Pride in Brighton and Hove needs volunteers to help at the summer event in August.

The highly successful carnival is in its 16th year.

It aims to promote equality and diversity and eliminate discrimination against LGBT people through a day of fun and education.

It is one of the largest free events in the Brighton calendar.

In order to maintain a free for all status Pride, which runs mostly through volunteers, estimates that they need between 100 and 150 volunteers to help this year.

Jobs range from general work such as health and safety checkers and bucket collectors to more specific work such as recruitment and managing human resources.

Summer Pride will take place on 2nd August 2008, with a parade and day out Preston Park.

Started in 1992, it has been well received over the years, starting from a humble afternoon event on The Levels to a massive fair which last year attracted 150,000 people.
