There may be A Thousand Different Ways singer Clay Aiken could have grabbed headlines to boost his flailing career, but none could have stumped a greater portion of the American public than the news that the American Idol also-ran has apparently fathered a child.

Yes, the sometime k.d. lang lookalike appears to have spawned a baby, via artificial insemination, with music producer David Foster’s sister, Jaymes Foster.

Yes. You read that right. Aiken, who was dogged only two years ago by a scandal surrounding a bareback tryst he allegedly had with petite porn star, John Paulus, has apparently decided to become a family man.

According to E! Online, a rep for David Foster confirmed that the Grammy-winning and legendary music producer’s sister, Jaymes Foster, and Clay Aiken had conceived via artificial insemination and that their blessed bundle of joy would be forthcoming in August.

“She looks great, glowing and very happy. She and Clay have been good friends for a long time,” the rep told The Insider.

It will be the first child for both Aiken, 29, and Foster, who is reportedly around 50.

Foster is said to have first met Aiken while working with him on his albums, including the recent On My Way Here.

There were no reports of a romance between the couple prior to announcement of the impending birth of their spawn.

Aiken most recently starred on Broadway in Spamalot.
