TV duo become civil partners in Chelsea ceremony
Interior designers Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan have become civil partners.
The Channel Five stars held a secret ceremony in London last month.
Details of their nuptials at Chelsea Old Town Hall in London on February 15th have only come to light now.
They first announced their intention to ‘tie the knot’ in January 2007. Commenting on the delay Mr Ryan, 41, said:
“For some reason, we have never got round to making it legal.”
The duo have become household names with programmes like Million Pound Property Experiment and How Not To Decorate.
They met in a Glasgow nightclub in 1986 when they were both teenagers.
Mr McAllister, 40, said of their first meeting:
“I was 18 but I knew straight away. I mean I was attracted straight away and knew it was for keeps.”
Reports in 2007 revealed that the couple are thinking about having children, though the pressures of fame mean that they may not do so for some time.
The Scottish duo have told the press several times they intend to get hitched.

As part of the publicity for their series Colin and Justin’s Wedding Belles, the couple gave an interview to The Scotsman detailing their desire for a big wedding.
The series, in which Colin and Justin plan weddings, displayed their trademark “stress TV,” in which they bitch and bicker endlessly over detail.
“We wanted a big lovely commitment to each other,” Justin told The Scotsman.
“And also we’ve been to a million weddings and watched couples enjoy lovely matrimonial bliss and then get divorced three years later having bought them a washing machine or a microwave.”
“You just implied we’re doing it for a John Lewis wedding list,” asked Colin.
“John Lewis? I’m doing Heals, Conran store, Harvey Nichols,” said Justin. “No, we’re getting married for the right reasons.”
