Gay equality organisation Stonewall Cymru will be focusing on empowering bisexual, lesbian and gay people in Wales at their annual conference next month.

The one day event will feature workshops on media training and lobbying skills.

The conference is called Get Engaged! Influencing Decision Makers and Campaigning for Change and will be held on Saturday 19th April at Gregynog, Powys, starting at noon.

Liz Morgan, Director of Stonewall Cymru, told PinkNews.co.uk:

“We’re taking a fresh approach to our conference this year, offering exciting yet practical skills that can be used to make in difference in the communities that we live.

“Whether it’s highlighting gay issues in the local media or lobbying your local Councillor or Assembly Member, our conference will enable lesbian and gay people to influence decision makers and ensure our communities are inclusive to all.”

Policy and Equality officers and organisations who are seeking to make the services they offer inclusive to everyone are also welcome to attend.

“The conference will provide organisations with an understanding of the best way to engage with the LGB community and explore how to use these experiences to improve the services they offer,” Ms Morgan added.
