Manslaughter accused blames sex injuries on his dog
A man on trial at Liverpool Crown Court charged with manslaughter has claimed that serious injuries to the dead man were caused by his dog.
David Currie from Warrington died from a heart attack brought on by serious internal injuries he sustained during sex at the home of Steven Boyd.
But 47-year-old Boyd, from the Wirral, denies manslaughter and claimed that the injuries were caused by his dog Tosh, a great Dane/bull mastiff cross.
Mr Currie was a member of the transvestite community and met Boyd through a friend.
Prosecution counsel Andrew Edis QC said a police search of Boyd’s home for the item which caused the serious internal injuries to Mr Currie was unsuccessful.
“It may well be that the dog did have a habit of having sex with men, which is a pretty extraordinary proposition,” he told the court, according to thisischeshire.co.uk
Mr Edis said that experts had concluded that the dog did not cause the injuries to Mr Currie.
The case continues.
