Matrix director sex-change story is untrue
The man who executive produces the films of the Wachowski brothers has told FoxNews.com that rumours Larry Wachowski has undergone gender reassignment are untrue.
PinkNews.co.uk reported yesterday that Larry is rumoured to have transitioned and taken on a new name, Lana.
Rated-M.com said that Wachowski, who wrote and produced 2005’s V for Vendetta and worked with brother Andy to write, direct and produce the 1999 blockbuster The Matrix and its sequels, began hormone treatment more than three years ago and “the major aspects of the surgery have been complete for some time.”
Producer Joel Silver is the most high-profile of string of people who works with the Wachowski brothers to report that the gender reassignment story was without substance.
“It’s all untrue,” he told FoxNews.com
“They just don’t do interviews, so people make things up.”
Fox correspondent Roger Friedman commented: “Of course, Larry Wachowski, who is reportedly into a lot of wild, tough stuff, has encouraged this kind of speculation among his fans and the press.
“Larry Wachowski’s purported sex change is right up there with “Paul Is Dead” and the “Beaver Died in Vietnam.” And it’s not true.
“On Wednesday, I had lovely chats with people at the sound studio in Germany where the Wachowskis have been making the live action version of the Japanese cartoon Speed Racer. The folks I spoke to got quite a kick out of the whole thing.”
