Go to Barcelona and fight homophobic bullies
Gay rights organisation Stonewall is inviting gay people and their friends to an event that is certain to put the fun back into fundraising.
The Barcelona Equality Walk, from July 13th to 15th, is a weekend full of sightseeing, meeting new people and raising money for Stonewall’s vital work fighting homophobia in schools.
Last year’s walk in Barcelona raised over £20,000 and Stonewall hope that this year’s event will be as popular.
The 10km stroll is just one part of a fun-filled weekend.
You arrive Friday morning and, after an afternoon exploring Barcelona, everyone regroups for the Welcome Pool Party held on the Axel Hotel’s amazing rooftop.
Saturday’s the 10k walk in the hot Barcelonan sun! But to make it more challenging we add in the extra element of a treasure hunt.
Participants get into teams and complete a series of tasks and questions on their way along the route.
Members of the winning team each receive a prize at our evening awards party.

The Sunday is left free for participants to do more sightseeing or join the Stonewall staff for lunch before flying home.
Still not convinced? Simon Lee, who walked last year, testifies:
“This was my first attempt at fundraising with a required target, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I’m happy to do it again.
“The organisation of the event was excellent and the overall weekend was fantastic. I met some lovely people who will hopefully become good friends.”

The funds raised from the 2007 Barcelona Equality Walk will go towards Stonewall’s Education for All campaign to tackle homophobia and homophobic bullying in schools.
