Since his Oscar winning turn in The Usual Suspects, Kevin Spacey’s sexuality has been fodder for mass media speculation.

Esquire Magazine all but outed the actor.

Spacey countered with his now infamous sit down with Playboy, in which he called the story a lie.

Now comes an interview with New York based Gotham Magazine that suggests the closet door may just be swinging the other way.

In a quote obtained by PerezHilton.com, the 48-year-old actor, who was just passed over for a Tony nomination for his work in the revival Moon for the Misbegotten, responds to the rumours.

“I’m living my life how I choose. In no way, shape, or form am I hiding, or am I terrified.

“I’m having the time of my life living my life. …I don’t think any degree of bizarre social pressure or media intrusion (means) I have to participate.”

While the quote neither confirms or denies the rumours, it’s the most he’s said on the subject in nearly a decade.

Back in 1999, Spacey told 60 Minutes’ Lesley Stahl his sexuality should make no difference with regard to his career.

Mr Spacey is currently the artistic director in residence at the Old Vic Theatre in London.

Rumours surrounding his sexuality increased in 2004 when he allegedly refused to report being mugged in the early hours of the morning in a London park.

Mr Spacey says that he tripped over his dog whilst chasing a man who had conned him into handing over his mobile phone
