Acclaimed singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright has announced a new date in London – the third to be added in a week.

He will now play five nights, 27th May to 1st June, at the Old Vic in London.

The gigs will follow the release of Rufus’ LP Release The Stars, on May 14th.

Rufus, who is openly gay, is a big hit with London audiences.

Earlier this year he performed two sell-out performances at the London Palladium, billed as his tribute to the legendary Judy Garland Carnegie Hall concert.

His eagerly-anticipated new album, the 12-track LP Release The Stars, which Rufus produced., will be preceded by the release of the single Going To A Town.

A stark, emotional and political track , it is released as a download on 30th April.

“I don’t think I mince my words on this album,” said Rufus.

“Whether it’s America or my best friend or my lover, I’m specific about what my demands are.”
