Welsh celebs host night to celebrate free LGBT counselling
A host of celebrities to attend an event next week to celebrate a new service for the gay community in Wales.
Free counselling will be available in Swansea for the first time thanks to an arrangement between the LGBT Cymru Helpline and Lynne Wager’s Counselling Practice.
Stonewall Cymru called the free counselling “fantastic news” for the lesbian and gay community.
Many people that contact the Cymru helpline and who are on a low income have said they feared going to their doctor to be referred to a NHS counsellor because they don’t want to ‘out’ themselves.
These people desperately need help in coming to terms with their sexuality and other issues in their life, as well as homophobic attacks, homelessness. Some callers have been suicidal.
A celebrity event on Saturday 31st March will feature Terry Williams from Dire Straits, Chris Needs Radio Wales as well as stars from Welsh soap Pobwl Y Cwm, BBC HTV Wales.
There will be a chance to win a makeover with celebrity hair stylist Brian Brown and an all-inclusive one night stay in the Penthouse Suite, Grand Hotel, Swansea for two people.
The event is being held in TWO 10 nightclub in Swansea.

The South Wales Police, Stonewall Cymru, THT, AMICUS and Public and Commercial Services Union, GaySwansea.Com and Grand Hotel are sponsoring or supporting the event.
