Boy George attacks Madonna’s “homophobic” religion
80s pop sensation Boy George, the former Culture Club singer, has launched a fresh attack on Madonna, accusing her of betraying her gay fans.
The English pop singer and songwriter is outraged at Madonna’s affiliation with the Kaballah Centre.
The spiritual organisation teaches the principles of the Kabbalah and is associated with Jewish mysticism.
Boy George, 45, believes the group to prejudiced towards same-sex couples.
“I have investigated it and they are homophobic,” he said in a video interview.
“I do think it’s shocking that somebody who has made so much money out of gay people is now part of an organisation which is anti-gay.”
It is not the first time that Boy George has condemned the Material Girl.
On his TV show The Madness of Boy George, he described her as “a vile, hideous, horrible human being with no redeeming qualities”.
Madonna has been a pupil of the Kabbalah Centre since the late 1990s and has attended Kabbalah classes with her husband Guy Ritchie.
The pop superstar has her own personal tutor, Rabbi Eitan Yardeni, whose wife Sarah Yardeni runs Madonna’s favourite charity, “Spirituality for Kids” which is organised by the Kabbalah Centre.
In 2004, Madonna donated $21 million towards a new Kabbalah school, according to

The pop superstar is also believed to have taken on the Biblical name of Esther and donated millions of dollars to Kabbalah Centres in London, New York and Los Angeles.
Responding to criticism about her Kabbalah links, she said in 2004:
“I wouldn’t say studying Kabbalah for eight years goes under the category or falls under the category of being a fad or a trend,” according to femalefirst.co.uk
“Now there might be people who are interested in it because they think it’s trendy, but I can assure you that studying Kabbalah is actually a very challenging thing to do.
“It requires a lot of work, a lot of reading, a lot of time, a lot of commitment and a lot of discipline.”
