Bids to meet gay star Sir Elton John have so far raised over $11,000 for the New Zealand AIDS Foundation.

The auction, which is currently coming to an end in New Zealand, gives fans a chance to meet the legend.

The highest bidder will win the ultimate experience for two people – attendance at the official concert sound check, dinner and a luxury suite at the Hotel InterContinental Wellington, the opportunity to watch the show from the VIP suite, premium car transfers, signed artist merchandise plus lots more.

The Trade Me charity auction, has been going for a week. All proceeds from the charity auction will be donated to The New Zealand AIDS Foundation, a cause Sir Elton is passionate about.

Elton John launched his own charity, the Elton John AIDS Foundation, in 1992. This organisation was established with the objective of making emergency funds available for basic needs in areas where the epidemic has been most hard-hitting.
