The gay star will join a number of bands and artists for the project including The Futureheads and The Datsuns, The Who’s Roger Daltrey, Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour and The Buzzcocks Pete Shelley are also involved.

John Peel died just over two years ago of a heart attack, he was revered and loved for his ability to uncover and give air time too unknown artists. The single is the latest in a long line of tributes and outpourings of affection for the radio legend.
