The annual Brighton and Hove Pride Dog show is scheduled for Sunday 9th of July, and is giving competitive canines a lot of bark about.

The competition runs the whole gamut of events, from the highly competitive and hotly contested, to the happened to be passing with my dog and just wondered …

The Pedigree classes are run under Kennel Club rules, and are taken very seriously. Other events such as doggy fancy dress and waggiest tail are really just for fun.

“Lulu is a total show girl!” enthused Jon. “I’m looking forward to entering her in anything and everything. She’s not a pedigree or anything, but she’s such a star, and she’ll look gorgeous in her little rainbow neck tie!”

Hove Rugby Club are donating the venue for free. There will be a bar and a BBQ to ensure that owners are kept as happy as their pets.

Gay dogs and straight dogs, gay owners and straight owners are all allowed.

Entry to watch is free, and entry into competition costs £2 per dog.
