Ronaldo named top World Cup gay icon

Portuguese midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo has been voted the top World Cup pin up by a Dutch gay magazine.

The Manchester United star topped the Gay Krant poll for the second year in a row.

He was selected in a vote of 3000 readers as “the most beautiful, the most attractive and the sexiest’ player at the showpiece event.”

Ronaldo beat second placed Swedish striker Markus Rosenberg who was followed by England’s Michael Owen and David Beckham and Dutch winger Robin van Persie, in the team named FC Hunks.

Other footballers who made the ream include Ronaldo’s team mate, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Sweden’s Fredrik Ljungberg, Brazil’s Kaka.
