Having just saddled up from a successful evening at the Golden Globes, gay love story, Brokeback Mountain has now been nominated for 9 British Academy Film Awards.

The cowboy movie will battle with race relations thriller Crash, and Capote, a biopic on author Truman Capote, for best film at the awards which are announced on February 19.

The BAFTAs, known as “Britain’s Oscars,” are being held this year two weeks before the March 5 Academy Awards in the U.S.

Last weekend, Brokeback Mountain won best best film, best screenplay, best original song and best director for Ang Lee at the Golden Globes in Los Angeles.
