Legal advice site launches to help gay couples tie the knot

Britain’s first online legal service for the gay community has been launched to coincide with the introduction of the Civil Partnerships Act.

PinkLegal.co.uk provides gay couples with free advice on all the legal aspects of gay relationships. Couples will also be able to purchase documents such as wills and pre-nuptial agreements for a fraction of the cost of visiting a high street law firm.

Alistair Kelman, head of content at PinkLegal.co.uk says the changes to the law are long over due: “For too long gay and lesbian couples have been treated as second class citizens by our legal system. We, at PinkLegal.co.uk, decided to make it a priority that our Wills and Pre-Nuptial services were drafted so as to apply to the gay and lesbian community from the first day of the new legislation taking effect. Consequently all the same tax and rights benefits are now available for everyone, whatever their sexual orientation.”

The PinkLegal.co.ukwebsite is a joint venture between gay news website PinkNews.co.uk and legal services provider Epoq.
