12:19 PM — The death of a New York radio newsreader has been described by authorities as a "gay slaying", according to reports. George Weber, 47, who worked for ABC, was found stabbed to death in his Brooklyn apartment on Sunday.

2:39 PM — A study of lesbian, gay and bisexual couples in America has suggested that they are as likely, or more likely, to be living in poverty as straight couples. It found that 24 per cent of lesbians and bisexual women are poor, while 19 per cent of heterosexual women experience poverty. Around 15 per cent of gay and bisexual men are living in poverty, compared to 13 percent of heterosexual males.

New Hampshire introduces bill to protect trans people 1
5:51 PM — The US state of New Hampshire is introducing a bill to protect trans people from discrimination. The bill means the words "gender identity" or "gender expression" will be added to current laws protecting from discrimination on the basis of sex, age, race, creed, colour, sexual orientation or religion.

Australian government to ‘block’ gay websites 15
5:20 PM — A blacklist of banned websites drawn up by the Australian government includes gay sites. The government is proposing a law that requires internet service providers to filter and block inappropriate content, such as that related to terrorism and abusive images of children. It has drawn up a list of sites to be blacklisted.

4:10 PM — A Vermont senate committee has unanimously approved a bill to allow gay marriage in the state. The news comes after a week of hearings on the issue, including a public debate on Wednesday.

2:44 PM — A district judge has ordered the names of a gay couple who adopted a child born in Louisiana to be added to the birth certificate. 4:15 PM — US dictionary-maker Merriam-Webster has redefined the word 'marriage' to include gays and lesbians. It added that the term also applies to "the state of being united to a person of the same sex in a relationship like that of a traditional marriage".

10:05 PM — One of Gran Canaria's biggest gay hotels has been forced to move, disrupting British LGBT holiday makers. The company blames leaking sewers for the move and has released graphic photographs showing excrement spurting out of the floor.
