11:42 AM — A married lesbian couple have been commended for saving the lives of 40 teenagers in Norway's massacre two weeks ago. Toril Hansen and Hege Dalen were having dinner on the shore opposite the island of Utoya when they heard shots ring out and screaming.

5:23 PM — Two men have reportedly been arrested in North Cyprus for having gay sex. According to Kibris newspaper, the men were accused of having "unnatural intercourse" in a hostel in Nicosia.

9:49 AM — Italy's parliament has rejected a bill to protect lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people from discrimination. The Chamber of Deputies voted yesterday 293 votes to 250 not to approve the legislation.

New Irish transgender laws ‘will break up families’ 27
11:53 AM — Irish proposals designed to give transgender people more rights will break up happy families, trans campaigners say. The plans say that trans people who married in their old gender will have to divorce or legally separate in order to be recognised in their new gender, regardless of whether they remain in a loving relationship with their partner.

British gay policeman victim of homophobic attack in Slovenia 59
1:47 PM — A British gay policeman was savagely attacked in a homophobic incident in Slovenia it has been reported. Oliver McNally was in the capital Ljubljana with straight friends on a stag party but fell out with anti-gay revellers in a nightclub after what has only been described as an 'encounter' who later attacked him with metal police-style batons.

5:05 PM — A gay pride march in a coastal town in Croatia ended in violence on Saturday when a stone-throwing mob attacked marchers. The march, in the town of Split, attracted 200 LGBT people and their allies, but police said thousands of people lined the streets in protest.
