5:18 PM — From tomorrow, hundreds of gay couples in the US state of Nevada will be official civil partners. The law allowing civil partnerships was passed in June but does not become effective until tomorrow.

12:29 PM — A lesbian who was banned by a hospital from visiting her dying partner has had her case thrown out of court. Janice Langbehn sued Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami for not allowing her to see Lisa Pond, 39, her partner of 17 years.

Atlanta demonstrators brave rain to protest gay bar raid 1
5:51 PM — Sixty demonstrators stood in driving rain on Saturday outside Atlanta City Hall to protest over the recent police raid of a gay bar. Claiming homophobia was the reason for the swoop, they denounced police for their handling of the affair.
Man pleads guilty to assault in gay man’s death 4
5:27 PM — A Washington DC man has pleaded guilty to assaulting a gay man who later died from his injuries. Robert Hannah, 19, was initially charged with manslaughter over the death of Tony Randolph Hunter but this was reduced to one charge of misdemeanor assault.
