2:16 PM — A statistician has predicted that a religious challenge to overturn gay marriage in Maine will fail. Nate Silver correctly predicted the winners in 49 out of 50 states in the last November 2008 election.

12:48 PM — Washington DC councilman David Catania has said he will introduce a bill to give gay couples in the district the right to marry. The bill has nine co-sponsors. It will be introduced on Tuesday.

5:22 PM — The Ohio city of Cleveland has been picked to host the 2014 Gay Games, beating Boston and Washington DC. Organisers say the sporting and cultural event, held every four years, attracts as many as 12,000 athletes and generates tens of millions of dollars in spending.
