Poll suggests almost half of Americans believe being gay is a choice 58
7:18 PM — A poll of 1,001 American voters has found that almost half believe being gay is something people choose. The research found that 47 per cent of respondents thought homosexuality was a choice, while 46 per cent opposed gay marriage.

11:45 AM — Buju Banton, the homophobic Jamaican reggae star, is innocent of the drug charges against him, his lawyer has said. The Grammy-nominated singer was arrested last Thursday in Miami.
Gay activist killed in Honduras 12
11:32 AM — A gay rights activist has been killed in Honduras in a drive-by shooting. Walter Trochez, 25, was well-known for campaigning for equality in the country and had reportedly been harassed and beaten recently.

2:12 PM — The Jamaican reggae star Buju Banton is in custody pending charges of drug offences. The singer, who has been condemned for lyrics calling for gays to be killed, was arrested in Miami on Thursday.
