US gay military groups merge 4
9:42 PM — Two US gay military groups have announced they are to merge under a new name. The Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN) and OutServe announced today that they would unite to represent LGBT troops and veterans. The change is expected to take place in October.
Mormons in mass resignation over gay marriage and polygamy 52
8:42 PM — Around 150 Mormons have quit in a mass resignation ceremony over the church's opposition to gay marriage and polygamy. Saturday's ceremony in Salt Lake City drew Mormons from Utah, Arizona and Idaho. Participants gathered to sign a 'Declaration of Independence from Mormonism'.
