American Idol producer rejects Adam Levine’s call for more openly gay contestants 21
11:03 PM — Yesterday, in an interview for Out magazine, Adam Levine, a judge on NBC's The Voice, called for the producers of American Idol to find more gay contestants. Today, the American Idol's producer rejected the calls saying that sexuality doesn't have anything to do with singing.
Gay rights group sues Missouri school district over website blocks 7
1:53 PM — A school district in Missouri, US, is being sued by a gay rights group for restricting access to informative gay websites. Camdenton R-III School District is being sued by the American Civil Liberties Union, which says that the district has ignored warnings that its actions are unconstitutional.

4:53 PM — US comedian Adam Carolla has offered a half-apology for making homophobic and transphobic remarks. The star was condemned by gay rights groups for last week's episode of The Adam Carolla Show, in which he hit out at gays and transgender people.

4:41 PM — A married gay couple in San Francisco who have lived together for nearly 20 years have been told that one must leave the US by August 25th. Bradford Wells and Antony John Makk married seven years ago in Massachusetts. For most of the last 19 years, they have shared a home in the Castro district.

12:12 PM — The trial of a boy accused of shooting dead a gay classmate has heard that administrators failed to address problems around the victim's clothes and behaviour. Brandon McInerney, who was 14 at the time, is accused of shooting 15-year-old Larry King in the back of the head during a lesson at E.O. Green Junior High School in Oxnard, California, in February 2008.
Another gay harassment lawsuit filed in Minnesota 16
10:28 AM — Another lawsuit has been filed against a school district in Minnesota, which has been accused of allowing homophobic bullying. Last month, a suit was filed on behalf of five students in the Anoka-Hennepin school district, where a number of LGBT teen suicides have been reported.

American Psychological Association calls for gay marriage 126
11:07 AM — The world's largest body of psychologists, the American Psychological Association, has called for state and federal officials to lift barriers to marriage equality. 5:55 PM — Young gay and bisexual men who use methamphetamine are more likely to be exposed to HIV, research suggests. Most studies on the issue focus on older gay men, but the latest research suggests a link between use of the drug and risky sexual behaviour which can lead to HIV infection.

American Indian tribe approves gay marriage 26
