10:30 AM — Police in Edinburgh are investigating after a man died suddenly during a visit to the city's most popular gay sauna. The man, in his sixties, was visiting the Number 18 sauna on Leith Walk and was rushed to hospital after being given CPR.

Bishop of Paisley Philip Tartaglia, who is expected to become the next Archbishop of Glasgow when Mario Conti steps down, said marriage equality would be "an act of cultural vandalism".

1:52 PM — A 21-year-old man has admitted killing a gay former lecturer. Pawel Rodak admitted attacking 64-year-old Roger Gray at the latter's home in Merchiston Crescent on March 18th and 19th this year.

Gay cycling champion Graeme Obree warns gay athletes to stay in the closet 45
3:56 PM — Graeme Obree, the cycling champion who came out earlier this year, has warned other gay sportsmen and women not to follow his example. The 45-year-old athlete, known as the Flying Scotsman, revealed in January that he is gay and said he had twice to kill himself over his struggle to accept his sexual orientation.

He and Labour MP Thomas Docherty were visiting a Dunfermline school On Wednesday when Mr Docherty claims he asked the First Minister to make a statement on SNP MP Bill Walker's "despicable" comments on gay marriage.

10:58 AM — An MSP who believes that gay relationships are not in "any way equal" to straight ones says he has been upset by messages calling him a bigot. Bill Walker, the MSP for Dunfermline said gay rights campaigners had "intimidated" him.

10:34 AM — A large majority of Scottish people now support marriage equality. According to the 2010 Scottish Social Attitudes Survey, published yesterday, 61 per cent of people believe gays and lesbians should have the right to marry.
