11:23 AM — A video designer is suing Microsoft after alleging homophobic abuse. Jamie Durrant, 38, is suing the corporation for £45,000 for 'hurt feelings' and lost pay. According to the designer, he was called "fag boy Jim" by colleagues, who sent mocking emails making fun of his sexuality.

Muslim preacher calls for gays to be stoned to death 54
2:37 PM — Hate preacher Anjem Choudary launched a vitrolic attack on gays last week in which he said that they should be stoned to death. The former lawyer added that this would include gay business secretary Lord Peter Mandelson.

Bickley man still in hospital over homophobic attack 1
3:29 PM — A man seriously injured by an attack that left his partner dead is still in a critical condition in hospital. Chris Bevan, 56, who was stabbed several times on March 3rd, is recovering from injuries to his internal organs in a south London hospital.
God Hates Fags preachers target London primary school 26
10:40 AM — Preachers from the anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church have said they plan to picket a London primary school which ran lessons about gay relationships. A picket schedule on their website announces they will be at the George Tomlinson School in Leytonstone next Friday.

Soho LGBT charity wins £1m lottery grant
3:23 PM — Kairos in Soho, a charity which provides support and activities for the LGBT community, is celebrating after receiving two lottery grants totalling almost £1 million. The organisation, based in Archer Street, was awarded the grants by the Big Lottery Fund.

Lesbian and gay singing event scheduled for London’s South Bank in May 2
2:02 PM — Various Voices, a lesbian and gay choir and singing event, will be held in London at the South Bank Centre in May. Hosted by the London Gay Men’s Chorus, The Pink Singers and Diversity, the four-day festival will feature 60 choirs, 2,000 singers and 50 concerts.
Islington registrar denied right to appeal over civil marriages ruling 31
10:36 AM — The Islington registrar who refused to carry out civil partnerships has been denied leave to appeal against the latest ruling. Lillian Ladele, 48, from Finsbury, was threatened with the sack after she told Islington borough council she could not carry out the ceremonies due to her Christian beliefs.

5:24 PM — Profile, one of the most popular gay bars in Soho, London, is to close at the end of next month. A joint venture between QSoft Consulting, which owns the Gaydar brand, and Vince Power Music Group, the £1 million Frith Street bar was opened in March 2007.
