New campaign urges gay men in relationships to ‘play it safe’ 1
4:16 PM — The Terrence Higgins Trust has launched a new HIV-prevention campaign aimed at gay men who are in long-term relationships. The campaign, which will appear in selcted gay press and on posters and postcards, is part of the Pan-London HIV Prevention Partnership (PLHPP) and seeks to address the issue of safe sex within gay male relationships.

Pride London celebrations in Soho to take place after all 8

Last week, the charity had been forced to cancel any Soho celebrations after problems negotiating licensing and the threat of potential disruptions relating to the extensive Crossrail roadworks currently taking place in central London.

London Pride in Soho cancelled 18
11:25 AM — Update: London Pride organisers are currently in new talks with Westminster council.The Soho element of London Pride 2010 has been cancelled, organisers announced today. As PinkNews.co.uk reported yesterday, roadworks around north Soho and Soho Square meant the Fire Brigade raised concerns that a large number of people in the area would not be safe.

The area, home to dozens of gay bars, cafes and shops, is currently surrounded by a number of roadworks and waterworks and the council may refuse to let normal celebrations go ahead on the advice of the fire brigade.

1:13 PM — A Polish man found guilty of murdering a 79-year-old gay man has been jailed for a minimum of 23 years. Marcin Orlowski, 21 and of no fixed address, was found guilty yesterday of the murder of Edward 'Teddy' Highwood, at the pensioner's Greenwich home.
