5:25 PM — A senior paramedic for the east England Ambulance Service in Essex who called premium chat lines on his work mobile and downloaded hardcore gay pornography while on duty has been handed a three-year caution order by the Health Professions Council.

10:20 PM — Punch Taverns says it has begun an internal investigation after the deputy manager of its Greencoat Boy pub in Westminster allegedly told the Labour Party's LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans) group that he would not have accepted the group's booking had he have known they were gay.

2:04 AM — A London pub has been reported to the police following an alleged homophobic comment made by its manager to the Labour Party's LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans) group. The comments have sparked widespread condemnation by senior labour figures including leadership candidate Ed Balls and Sarah Brown, the wife of former prime minister Gordon Brown and former deputy prime minister John Prescott.

2:57 PM — In her speech today, the Queen outlined the Pope's planned religious activities for his state visit in September. His visit will be the first Papal one ever in the UK, that of Pope John Paul II in 1982 being a papal one. Britain's welcoming of the Pope has not gone down well with the LGBT population.

Based on the heavily coded diaries of Lister, which were not deciphered until the 1930s, nearly a century after her death, the drama tells the story of her life as an openly lesbian, 19th-century industrialist and Yorkshire landowner.
