Man’s jaw broken in Merseyside homophobic attack 28
5:06 PM — A 27-year-old man had to be treated in hospital for a fractured jaw after being punched in a homophobic attack in Bootle, Merseyside. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened on Marsh Lane on June 21st.

6:00 PM — Gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell confronted BNP leader Nick Griffin today over his party's record of homophobia, anti-Semitism and verbal attacks on Muslims. Mr Griffin, who was barred from a garden party at Buckingham Palace today, was leaving the BBC studios in Westminster when Mr Tatchell ambushed him in a stairwell.

Man denies murdering trans woman Destiny Lauren
2:59 PM — A man accused of killing a trans woman in November last year in Kentish Town, London, has gone on trial. Leon Fyle, 22, who is unemployed, strangled 29-year-old Destiny Lauren after visiting her for sex, a court heard.

Liverpool Pride unveils Cabaret Stage line-up 3
4:14 PM — Liverpool's first Pride event will have a cabaret stage with acts such as burlesque, singing, drag kings and queens and a Liza Minelli tribute. The rainbow circus-themed festival, to be held on August 7th and 8th, is Liverpool's first official Pride event.

Tory councillor cleared of homophobia over ‘limpwristed boys’ remark 48
11:10 AM — A Conservative councillor who made a remark on Facebook about "limpwristed boys" has been cleared of homophobia. Denis Knowles, a councillor for Seacombe in the Wirral, made the comment in March after spotting gay Labour activists handing out leaflets for lesbian Labour MP Angela Eagle.

Small Muslim protest fails to hinder Derby Pride 19
4:38 PM — The third Derby Pride festival proceeded peacefully this weekend despite a small group of Muslim protesters. The 14-strong group held up placards urging marchers to change their lives but were largely drowned out by the colourful parade.
