6:17 PM — A gay club in Liverpool's city centre has denied police claims of violence, disorder and indecency. Police want to temporarily close Pink nightclub after almost 40 alleged incidents in just 12 months.

Video: Gay Boyzone star Stephen Gately found dead while on holiday 44
11:27 AM — Stephen Gately, the openly gay member of the Irish "boy band" Boyzone has died while on holiday in the Balearic island Mallorca (Majorca). The 33-year-old was on holiday with his civil partner Andrew Cowles and it is reported that he went out for drinks, went back to his flat, feel asleep and then died.

11:05 PM — Police are urgently appealing for witnesses to a homophobic attack in central London. A 62-year-old man is in hospital suffering serious head injuries after he was attacked near Trafalgar Square on September 25th just before midnight.

Homophobic posters placed around Leicester ahead of Pride 73
