1:34 PM — The city of Liverpool will host its first Pride festival in more than ten years, it has been announced. The date for Liverpool Pride 2010 will be August 7th, a date organisers say will not clash with any other gay festivals.

11:55 AM — A gay man in his fifties was the victim of a homophobic attack in Ilford, east London, on Saturday. Two 18-year old men have been arrested on suspicion of assault and are being held in custody.

11:27 AM — Stephen Gately, the openly gay member of the Irish "boy band" Boyzone has died while on holiday in the Balearic island Mallorca (Majorca). The 33-year-old was on holiday with his civil partner Andrew Cowles and it is reported that he went out for drinks, went back to his flat, feel asleep and then died.
