Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto comes out as gay 59
9:28 AM — Zachary Quinto, the star of Heroes and 2009's Star Trek, has revealed he is gay. The 34-year-old has refused to discuss his sexuality until now, although he joined other celebrities in making an 'It Gets Better' video.

Spain to open first gay retirement home 91
5:04 PM — Work will begin on Spain's first gay and lesbian retirement home in the coming weeks. The December 26th Foundation in Madrid is named after the 1979 date when General Franco's anti-gay law was repealed.

1:50 PM — A transgender woman claims she was told by a Jobcentre to dress as a man to find work. Tina Cook, 54, who began transition last year, used to work in the construction industry but was made redundant 18 months ago.

Christian GP sacked from drugs panel over views on homosexuality 259
11:15 AM — A Christian doctor who co-wrote a paper linking gays to paedophilia has been sacked as a government drug advisor. Dr Hans-Christian Raabe claimed he had been "sacrificed on the altar of political correctness" but the Home Office said he had been fired because he failed to mention the controversial work in interviews.

Gay Soho priest sacked after propositioning gay men 76
10:33 AM — A gay priest has been sacked for "inappropriate" conduct after he sexually propositioned a gay couple who were staying with him. The Rev David Gilmore, rector of St Anne's Anglican Church in Soho, was barred from working as a priest for two years.

Gay man wins £13,000 after being bullied at work 13
4:03 PM — A gay man has been awarded more than £13,000 in compensation after a tribunal found he had been bullied at work for his sexuality. Steven Bain said his colleagues at The Lighthouse in Glasgow, an architecture and design centre, asked him if he found the words "poof" and "queer" offensive and whether he had ever dressed as a woman.
Tory councillor suspended after being accused of homophobia 84
12:43 PM — A Bristol Tory councillor who criticised gay actor Ian McKellen’s visits to schools has been suspended by his party. Chris Windows, who represents Henbury ward, has agreed to be "voluntarily suspended", the Conservative Party said.
