4:33 PM — Reports from Uganda say the country's anti-homosexuality bill has been dropped. The controversial legislation would have strengthened Uganda's current laws against gay sex but several reports say the government has intervened to drop it.

1:38 PM — Enock Nsubuga Balibagga, 22, the suspected killer of Ugandan gay rights activist David Kato, has been remanded to Luzira prison until the case continues on the 17th March.

UN deletes gay reference from anti-execution measures 17
4:54 PM — A United Nations panel has deleted a reference to gays and lesbians in a resolution condemning unjustified executions. The motion was introduced by Morocco and Mali and the vast majority of countries in support were African or Arabic.

Updated: Ugandan newspaper ordered to stop outing gay men 16
3:17 PM — Ugandan newspaper Rolling Stone has been ordered to stop outing gay men and lesbians. The publication, no relation to the US magazine, began publishing the names of gays and lesbians last month. In a previous issue, it carried a banner stating that the individuals should be hanged.

5:20 PM — Several gays and lesbians in Uganda say they have been attacked after a newspaper published their names, photographs and addresses. After the Rolling Stone newspaper called for them to be hanged, a gay activist in the country says that one woman was almost killed when her neighbours pelted her house with stones.

5:22 PM — A Ugandan newspaper has published the names, addresses and photographs of the country's "top" gays and lesbians. Rolling Stone, which has no connection to the US magazine of the same name, had a banner across its front page which read "hang them".
