    6:05 PM — The Tory Chief Whip, Patrick McLoughlin, has privately assured anxious Tory backbenchers that the current proposals for equal marriage will "not come to a vote," and that they will be "kicked into the long grass," the Mail on Sunday reports. However, a spokesperson for David Cameron said the Prime Minister said he and the Government remain committed to change the law.
