    11:02 PM — On the day that President Obama finally ended the 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' ban on openly gay people serving in the US military, a young airman came out to his father via the telephone and broadcast a webcam recording of the event on YouTube.

    US gay group urges CNN not to use guests from the ‘anti-gay industry’ 20

    GLAAD says CNN uses anti-gay guests just because they are anti-gay

    4:19 PM — The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation has urged TV network CNN not to use guests from the "anti-gay industry". It said figures were being invited on air purely because they are homophobic, rather than having any expertise in subjects.

    3:36 PM — Lesbian author Jeanette Winterson has attacked the 'negative' use of the word lesbian in newspapers. Writing on her blog, the Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit author complained that tabloids tended to emphasise the sexual orientation of gay or lesbian criminals.
