In particular, The Queen paid tribute to the gay codebreaker Alan Turing who was later forced to undergo chemical castration after being convicted of homosexuality.

His visit will be the first Papal one ever in the UK, that of Pope John Paul II in 1982 being a papal one. Britain's welcoming of the Pope has not gone down well with the LGBT population.
