    10:40 PM — A couple from New Jersey are set to sue over a political campaign which used their engagement photo, without permission, and in an attack on a state lawmaker who supported a failed equal marriage bill.

    11:39 AM — American megachurch pastor Eddie Long has announced at the weekend that he will go on hiatus from preaching, after his wife filed for divorce. Long, who was accused of seducing four young men last year, told his New Birth Missionary Baptist Church congregation: "I'm going to take a little time off to work with my family."

    1:53 PM — US anti-gay organisations have hit back after being included on a list of 'hate groups'. The Family Research Council and National Organization for Marriage were named by a civil rights body as two of 18 groups which "demonise" gay people and propagate "known falsehoods".

    5:40 PM — FBI figures for 2009 show that reports of anti-gay hate crimes in the US have decreased. However, a recent study claims that gays are more likely to be victims of violent hate crime than any other minority group.
