9:50 AM — Two transgender men in Australia have won the right to be legally recognised as men without undergoing sex reassignment surgery. The pair, who have not been named, have had their breasts removed and some hormone therapy, although they still have some female sexual organs.

Judge upholds 21-year sentence for trans woman’s killer 14
11:15 AM — A man convicted for the second time of killing a transgender woman has had his original sentence upheld. Leon Fyle, 23, will serve 21 years for killing 29-year-old Destiny Lauren at her flat in Kentish Town, London, in 2009.

3:39 PM — A transgender woman from Burnley has accused the NHS of leaving her "half man, half woman" by refusing to pay for her breast surgery. Cathy Ann Daniels, 57, was born physically male and has had some surgery.

Man found guilty in retrial over transgender woman’s murder 10
12:49 PM — A London man has been found guilty for a second time of murdering a transgender woman. Leon Fyle, of Catford, was convicted of the murder of Destiny Lauren last September and sentenced to 21 years in prison but the Court of Appeal ruled his original conviction was “unsafe".

12:13 PM — A famous Chinese dancer says she was dropped as a judge on a TV talent show because she is transgender. Jin Xing, 44, had sex reassignment surgery in 1996. She was booked to appear for eight weeks on Feitong Fanxiang, a show for professional singers.

11:30 AM — A Lincolnshire teenager accused of murdering a pensioner says he lashed out because the older man came on to him. Aiden Jackson, is accused of murdering David Cowley, 67, at Sleaford Rail Station in November last year.

Lib Dems say 12-month gay blood ban must be lifted 27
12:02 PM — The Liberal Democrat party has voted to urge the government to go further on removing blood donation restrictions on gay men. Members at the party's conference in Birmingham agreed that the new 12-month deferral period is "a ban by any other name".

Unitarian church disappointed by ‘discriminatory’ gay marriage plans 33
5:13 PM — The chief officer of the British Unitarian Church says he is disappointed by the announcement of a government consultation on gay marriage. Derek McAuley said it would be discriminatory not to allow religious gay marriages and questioned why the process could not begin before Christmas, rather than the scheduled date of March 2012.
